Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.

Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!

We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!

Ok guys, I'm back. Yes I was few days out in the wilderness. Good weather must be used at maximum.

@k00b it appears the link in the page footer to the commit that's live is not working right?

https://github.com/stackernews/stacker.news/commit/c0c6 takes me to a 404 on GitHub.

reply

Yep, hash collision! Too many commits for 4 chars. I need a new hack to get the hash in prod.

This is where we're at: https://github.com/stackernews/stacker.news/commit/c0c691eda5f36a8688c989e05124db0799a55b7b

I won't ship anything new until tomorrow for my wife's sake lol

October is Ekim in Turkish. Ekim also means sowing seeds in Turkish.
So, I've started sowing seeds in our garden. First parsleys and then lettuces, onions etc.

I love this cultural trivia, thanks!

ᕦ(ò_óˇ) Day 18 of exercising everyday before the saloon opens.

Woke up at 8:30AM today, a little earlier.

Went for a 2 hour walk around the city and met some chickens:

https://i.postimg.cc/rwx5mjJy/signal-2023-10-03-135031.jpg

On the photo, it looks like I cornered them but I didn't. They were actually very trusting and pecked around me with no signs of fear. After I continued my walk, I found a sign that they belong to the circus and are allowed to roam freely.

reply

Why did the chicken cross the road?
No one knows. But the road will have its revenge…. oh yes!

reply

It's always nice to get some steps in with the chickens ;)

I made a greek Tstatsiki oracle analysis: DXY and 10Y will reverse the moment I go to the beach bar. Should be 11.00 o'clock east coast time.
If I'm wrong I'll have a Raki on anyone who wants me to have one

reply

Makes as much sense as the analysis I'm seeing. I'll keep an eye on the clock.

reply

Do You see? The DXY looks toppy - just opened a Retsina! In 30 min I'll go to the bar. Bring Your NDX Calls in position....

reply

Excellent call. I am observing.

reply

Sorry. The Tsatsiki priest didn t see the job market fraud coming...

reply

Done in by fraudulent government statistics, aka bidenomics

Never doubt the Tsatsiki Oracle!

I think Archimedes drew the first chart with some lines in the sand with a wooden stick, discovered a bull flag on the roman Dinar and was fu..ed up by a surprising move by the roman central banker Tullius Perversus to lower the silver grade by 10% to finance the war against Sicily. He was right but had a bad timing.

reply

I believe Mr Perversus was the Bernanke of his day, or the Greenspan?

reply

That's for sure. And he received highest honours for his economic wisdom...

reply

Thank you sir. I wish you a wonderful day as well. Stay dry and safe out there!

reply

Thanks! But dry?? NGMI

reply

I meant, don't get caught up in the rain. Stay dry Lol.

reply

Hahaha. Ok. But we only have storm. 25 degrees (c) and sun is shining. Wind comes from the greek mainland. They call it 'Meltemi' - tough to maneuver

No. Central Banks do.

reply

I'm the one ready to start burning logs. My wife and daughter think it's balmy when standing water isn't frozen.

reply

We should probably do a swap….. but that sounds weird lol

reply

What do you think this is? A 60s swinger's chat?

reply

Are you oversharing?

I have a sketch in mind where a bored couple go to a swingers party to try and spice up a lacklustre love life. After a nervous introduction and during pre-sexy time cocktails the wife reaches in to the goldfish bowl, grabs her husbands keys and says ‘George, we need to go. I left the grill on’ They then go home and have mind blowing sex and afterwards remark on how sleeping with each other is preferable to the house of lunatics they have just left….

reply

I can't think of any movie in particular, but that whole thing was so particular to time and place, and probably mostly a Hollywood invention. I remember a bad film called Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice that was all the rage back then.

reply

Hmmm. I think it featured in a tv show called ‘Life on Mars’

Welcome buddy.

Valuable information often lead to actions, but to most people, just from left to right ear.

For example, If I learned something about natural health or herbs, I would depend less on doctors or eventually say goodbye to them, but even if you told others how they can use xx to heal xx, they would still keep going to see doctors somehow.

So question of today: did you ever wonder why some people are striving to be self-sufficient and keep learning, while some prefer being spoonfed everything?
