I think it did depend (and still does) on when you open the next tab. We're polling if you have new notifications. So if the red dots are in sync, that means that the polls are in sync.
Depending on when you opened your other tab, they might be less in sync.
I think that's what you are noticing :)
let me do more tests, but at least k00b fixed the red dot not going away in other tabs problem!
PS: did you feel the 1 sat nemo? maybe not him but maybe it's him.
