In 2013, a man named Pål-André Rønningen from Norway had a harrowing experience when the small plane he was flying in crashed in a remote forest. The crash left him and the pilot stranded in the wilderness for several days before they were rescued.
While Rønningen survived the crash, he realized that he had lost his backpack containing his laptop and a hardware wallet with a substantial amount of Bitcoin. The backpack was thrown from the plane during the crash, and the dense forest made it nearly impossible to locate.
Determined to recover his lost Bitcoin, Rønningen organized a search party, including volunteers and a metal detector. After several days of searching, they miraculously found the backpack buried in the snow and mud. To Rønningen's relief, the hardware wallet was still functional, and his Bitcoin was intact.
