I think down zapping is also good.
I never think to do that. It is a public service, though, and I applaud you for doing it.

flagging is a visible FU to the poster
What does it look like to the poster?
Exactly my question. I don't know. We could test it lol. Flag this post
They don't see any difference. Their post appears as if nothing happened even if it's outlawed.
The outlaw state is hidden from them too (if they continue to be logged in).
Can you make stacker.news have nostr nevent or note links embedded in each article? This would make each article a nostr event, and the replies on the nostr feed could also be mirrored here.

and the sats goes to SN pool too.
Exactly!
I really feel good when I flag with some sats a shity post, because I know that those sats are going back to the posts/users that deserve them.
SN is fucking awesome!
down zapping
I never knew this is possible. How?
Click on the three dots above the comment or post and click flag. Then you can downzap
Ok. Thank you for letting me know.
There's talk of increasing the cost of posting. Hopefully, that will address it.
There is?
Yes, peak pricing to be specific, aka global fee escalation.
@Undisciplined had a really simple version where base cost = num posts in last hour
We could also just raise the base fee. There's also someone zapping nearly every post 10 sats which makes practically every post profitable.
Oh cool yes now that you describe this I think I read the original discussion on this. Sounds good!

I think part of the issue is that we've been zapping content at much larger magnitudes (which I whole-heartedly endorse) and that might be drawing new people to the site. With any luck, they'll assimilate and start adding value once they realize that's how to get the biggest rewards.
