First post here, and I've got some quick introductory thoughts to share.
As a 100K+ Reddit karma whore, I've never been more confident that the time for disruption in the long-form/forum niche is now.
As someone who's been active on Reddit for over a decade, I can confirm this sentiment is rapidly growing among the hundreds of millions of active users, especially since their disastrous shitcoin experiment imploded a few weeks ago.
Very excited to learn the ropes, and join the fight to progress mass SN adoption with you all!

The coffin nails increase by the day. Word is now out they're making a big push to IPO, so naturally they're gutting it of cool features and corporatizing/censoring more. Very hopeful this will spur more folks to migrate over here.

it's true. i was really surprised how quickly i stacked 100k here. especially since i don't post that much. i mostly zap stuff, and hang out with the sports fans and degenerate gamblers in the ~meta threads

i believe it was originally supposed to be for site discussion, feature requests, and stuff like that. recently @k00b has been promising more subs are coming, so in the meantime people will post "meta takeover" stuff if the sub doesn't exist. i think @grayruby started it for the sports discussion and nfl survivor pool, but there's a few of them now

Curious if these plans for sub-expansion will eventually call for moderators?
I modded a few subs back on Reddit, but the problem always was that there was no incentive to really do a good job, since all you got for the hard work was "karma".
Perhaps ⚡️ will fix this by incentivizing mods via sats? Or is the idea of "mods" shunned here in favor of ⚡️-voting being enough of a moderator in itself? @k00b

When I had a low level English I used pikabu (where I first time discovered and first time ignored Bitcoin). Later I used Reddit and it gives more precise information than simple google engine. Lately I discovered Stacker news and I'm exited about it. Team gathered the best practice here, killed spam, etc
Hope this place will become something incredibly huge

you can still link pics/gifs, but you can also upload directly with the little icon on the top right of the comment box. you can also preview the comment, to see if the link/upload worked
