We were oh so close to having a resolution to our NFL Survivor Pool yesterday but the Lions scored 2 touchdowns and a safety in the final 3 minutes against the hapless Bears and saved @tnuts420. Would have been quite the let down to have your own team take you out and end the pool, but the Lions pulled it out.
Speaking of the NFL Survivor Pool, I will be posting the week 12 games today instead of tomorrow. Tomorrow, I will be a bit busy as I need to drive my wife to the city for a minor medical procedure. I will still do a quick daily post sometime in the afternoon when I get a chance to log on but with 3 games on Thursday I would rather get the Pool post up earlier than later in case our finalists want to use a team playing Thursday (or Friday for that matter- apparently there is a Friday game as well).
Overall, a good day of football yesterday. I am looking forward to tonight's game between the Eagles and Chiefs and definitely looking forward to Thursday when we can all give Thanks (even those of us outside of the US) for the rare opportunity for the 49ers to pick up their second W in the same calendar week. If they do pull it off it will be the second time this year that has occurred.
It's Meta Music Monday so go check out @Public_N_M_E's post and don't forget to get your picks in for tomorrow night's NBA in-season tournament games. #320520
Sats for all.
Cheers, GR
Cheers GR. Nice save @tnuts420 da bears really are a dumpster fire. They had that game in hand. Hutch is an absolute monster, he's going to be a big problem in the league.

completely agree. it's always nice to come back and win it, but that was too close for comfort. especially against the bears, i was sweating bullets all afternoon.
rough loss for the vikings too. i'm amazed you guys are still hanging in there. i thought when cousins went down that was it, but you're still very much in play in the north
reply
Haha so did I. But this has been nothing if not entertaining. We did the same thing we did against the chiefs... Handed them the game with drops and fumbles.
reply
Lions still in play for #1 seed in NFC. Pending the result of tonight's game. If Eagles go to 9-1 it is going to be tough even though Detroit's schedule is a easier than Eagles.
reply
Hutch is going to win a DPOY award in the next few years. He is a beast.
reply
For sure. Myles garret is probably going to get it this year, but if you looked at the stat boxes it should be Danielle Hunter, he's got the better stats across the season. Garret only just overtook him in sacks by 1. Still yeah, hutch, is going to be big time.
reply
It's funny because Hunter is top 10 in pretty much every meaningful category but he doesn't get the attention that Watt, Garrett, Parsons, Bosa, Crosby etc do. I don't know about DPOY but he has been really good this year.
DPOY seems to be a DE award in modern NFL but the best defensive player in the league this year has been Fred Warner.
reply
By a country mile! Warner has been outstanding.
But like you mentioned it's a passer and get the passer league, MVP I'd a QB award and DPOY is an EDGE award.
Hunter did used to be designated as a DE, but now he's showing as OLB. Kinda the same thing though, just edge rusher. Some of his impact doesn't show up in the stat boxes but you see it on the field, he sets the edge against the run really well.

I've realized that our early bets have better than fair odds, so it's really impressive that I'm losing so often.
reply
How about those Thunder? Raps too but my Thunder fascination is in full swing.
reply
I was surprised how much I enjoyed watching your Raptors. They're actually pretty fun to watch.
In general, I feel like we're in a pretty good period of interesting basketball. Most teams seem to be a lot more distinctive than they were five years ago.
reply
They are playing a much more exciting game this year. Still struggling from 3, the line and with turnovers though but biggest issue is they don't have a closer. Take the recent game against the Celtics for example. The Raps were down 16 at half but took advantage of Boston struggling in the 3rd and clawed back into the game. They took a 1 point lead a couple times, including with 2 mins left but they missed 4 of their last 5 shot and Boston made 4 of their last 5 shots. Game over.
