Lightning channels are a decent metaphor for relationships if you think about it. It's a binding agreement with a counter-party that ideally is dual-funded, maintains its balance, and is hopefully never force closed.

- This is somewhat old, misrepesented news but someone posted a link to a Tweet announcing, "Panama passed a law giving #Bitcoin legal status and zero capital gains tax." AFAIK it hasn't passed and still needs to be signed by El Presidente. It's also not a legal tender law, but it does give Bitcoin a legal tender-like tax status.
