Everyone made it through last night's slate unscathed. Will anyone be joining @gnilma in the One-Strike Club on Friday?
There are only two more rounds of Group Play. Then we'll enter the playoff rounds. Only 8 teams advance to the playoffs, so think ahead.
Friday's Slate 11/24 (Tournament Record)
  • Celtics (2-0) @ Magic (2-1)
  • Suns (2-1) @ Grizzlies (0-3)
  • Heat (2-0) @ Knicks (1-1)
  • Bulls (0-2) @ Raptors (0-2)
  • Pistons (0-3) @ Pacers (3-0)
  • Nuggets (2-1) @ Rockets (1-1)
  • Wizards (0-3) @ Bucks (2-0)
  • Kings (2-0) @ Timberwolves (2-0)

Hadnt thought about burning playoff teams.... so gotta go out on a limb here

No risk it, no biscuit

That's the first Clippers pick of the pool.
reply
That's strike one, but I still think it was a good pick.

Raptors

Great minds...

I wasn’t very confident in that pick but turned out good

Pacers

Alright. Burning a playoff team?
reply
Yes, I don't mind because I don't think the Pacers will win in the playoffs or at least I won't be picking them to win.

The Raptors fixed them. Haha.
reply
They're starting to look better. You should be safe against the lowly Wizards.

Would have taken some interesting picks like Raptors or Clippers or Spurs if I wasn't on one strike. But thanks to the Mavs, I must take a safe pick even if it means screwing myself over in the elimination rounds (if I can get that far). Hopefully, Bucks vs Wizards on Friday don't turn into one of those surprise games.
reply
I'm leaning towards Raptors. They're not making it into the playoffs and the Bulls are a mess right now.
I'd like to hear how @grayruby feels about them before I pull the trigger though.

I think the Raptors will beat the Bulls. Raps had a let down game last night gave up way too many offensive rebounds and had 24 turnovers. I think they bounce back at home on Friday. They lost to the Bulls early in the season but out played them most of the game. It was one of those classic Raptors game where they were ahead by 8 points with 2 mins left but couldn't hit a basket while Derozan took over the game.
reply
Are the Raps going to try to get one of the Chicago guys on the trade market?
reply
Not sure what path they will take. Last year, everyone thought they were going to sell and they bought. It's a hard team to peg. They have a lot of talent and I like the style of game they are playing now but they are turning the ball over too much, getting beat on the offensive glass too often, shooting poorly from the line, and the 3point shooting is very inconsistent. Probably need more time to assess what they have with the new coach and system.
reply
I'm mostly hoping Caruso ends up with a contender, because he's exactly what a bunch of them need. I'd be all in on him if I were the Bucks, in particular.
That was way closer than it should have been.
reply
Yes, and I thought I burned a potential playoff team for a highly likely to win / safe pick. Man, was I wrong... The whole game was close, the Buck were never able to pull away. The Wizards had 5 guys in double digits, and Poole got over 30. My palms sweating the whole second half. I'm just glad they got the win and I'm not eliminated.
reply
As bad as the Wizards are, there's always a chance of Poole going nuclear.
reply
Many to choose from but you can only choose far away😎😎😎
reply
I'm taking the Raptors.
reply
Raps looking good so far
reply
Good news. I'm watching Heat/Knicks, but I missed most of the first half. Indiana and Milwaukee are making things interesting.
reply
Pacers and Bucks will both win. When you watch nba league pass what broadcast do you get or do you get to choose?
reply
You get to pick. I usually go with the default home broadcast, though.
reply
That’s cool. It’s the same with the mlb tv, which I had for awhile. I used to like to flip between the broadcasts to see how each side was covering it.
reply
Some of the broadcast teams are hilariously biased. They'll just blatantly insult opposing players and adamantly take their team's side regardless how obvious the right call is.
reply
Wild game between Raps and Pacers tonight. Hope the Raps don't run out of steam in 4th on second night of back to back.
reply
I'll switch over once this Denver game wraps up.
reply
Hell of a game.
reply
I haven't watched much Pacers, they're pretty fun.
reply
That backcourt is incredible.
reply
We haven't had many great old school point guards for a while. It's nice seeing playmakers making a comeback.
