I think these solutions are good for merchants from some aspects:
  • LN liquidity management "nightmare", for a small business
  • more privacy in receiving BTC, the payment processor act as a decoy/ firewall. Merchants can later move his BTC into multiple private wallets, without revealing to the payer the final destination, in the moment of the payment. Having a full public node, as a merchant, facing directly the payers, can reveal more information about your node, liquidity etc.
  • easy to onboard and start accepting BTC
  • conversion into fiat if is necessary (some merchants still pay bills in fiat)
  • multiple levels of users for the same account, so employees would not have access to move funds out, only receive.
