Hey Stackers,
I've been going down the Nix Os rabbit hole, its pretty cool.
Broke my phone screen recently, will probably buy a pixel and use graphine
I'm looking to continue the dev stuff and use as much FOSS as possible
And thinking about an S19 hosted through Kaboomracks
Thanks, Hustle
reply
For fun I also have NixOS on my phone with Nix-on-droid.
reply
That sounds wild
reply
Not really, it's not different from a VPS, I've ran successfully a whole Django project, all with database and editor with LSP.
reply
Nice, I was thinking about Graphene or LineageOS, but not sure of the difference
reply
I've enjoyed seeing the Graphine Stacker News posts, i'd probably like checking it out myself
reply
Both of you should try and secure a pixel device these next 2-3 weeks second-hand.
We can all get setup on graphene around the same day, if interested. Nix’ers will be welcome too.
reply
Great idea, I will try Swappa.

@ekzyis how do you pronounce your name?
eck-zee-iss? eck-zy-iss? ecks-yis? eck-zise?
reply
To be honest, I don't know myself.
When I created my nym, I didn't care about pronunciation.
Caring about how people pronounce my name is a waste of time.

yeah, @Car has the most funny pronunciation of my nym I heard so far, lol :)
And to be honest, that's the one I hear the most (not sure where else I consistently hear my nym pronounced by someone) so I actually pronounce my nym like this myself now, lol

There are few things more depressing in life than when you're the old guy who gets offered a seat on a bus or train. I'd rather stand. Of course, I appreciate the gesture, so I show gratitude.

I recommend a dose of more toxicness @siggy47
Just show the next person offering you a seat this comment of yours, lol :)
Or did I understand your comment wrong? With gratitude, do you mean you accept and sit down or only show gratitude and keep standing?
reply
I thank them and tell them I have a stiff back so I prefer to stand. The truth is that I DO prefer to stand, but not because of my back. I'm sure there will come a time when I sit.
reply
From now on I'll forego offering my seat, just in case the old person happens to be you.
reply
I'm the bent over guy with the long white beard and the cane.

Alright, no seats for anyone matching that description, out of respect.

Randomly went to a new place to do some exploring, like I didn't expect anything from it at all, but then I accidentally met someone who could teach me about natural dyeing; life is quite weird and full of surprises sometimes!
If you want to play around changing the fabric color, but it has to be natural, here is what I have learned so far:
  • onion skin for orange
  • avocado skin for pink
  • indigo for blue
  • walnut shell for brown / black
  • pomegranate for yellow
many fun experiments to be had! and how cool that they show different colors but then can change fabric into other colors, which made me think how little our eyes can actually "see".

Make an experiment for yourself. Take a piece of paper and write down 10-20 people you know personally. Ask each of them if they will accept to use a CBDC. Write down each of the answers and put the date and their signature. Put that paper away for 1-3 years. When they will start rolling out CBDCs, go and ask again the same people what they did, accepted or not? Then you will see who is a real pleb or not and your real friends that you can count on them.

Let’s see what happened in England: the unincorporated government operated by Queen Victoria already had an incorporated (chartered) government services corporation, the United Kingdom, so then the United Kingdom, Inc., spun off a franchise operated as the UNITED KINGDOM which then established municipal charters for its own franchises, SCOTLAND, IRELAND, ENGLAND, WALES, NEW CASTLE, EXETER, and so on. This was going so well and so much new money was being raised from all these new assets (things to tax) created out of thin air, that Benjamin Disraeli promoted opening up the β€œenfranchisement opportunity” to the working class in England: give them a vote as corporate shareholders in exchange for seizing upon the copyright to their names, their rights, their labor, the value of whatever private assets they might have - basically make them slaves of the government under the guise of voluntary indentured servitude, and issue bonds based on the value of all that formerly private property, too. Millions of unsuspecting Englishmen clamored to be β€œenfranchised” and thought that the right to vote was a good thing and that it was giving them a greater voice in their government, instead of surreptitiously stealing everything of value from them and β€œmonetizing” it for the benefit of the government.

My observations on Stacker News

Being on SN for long time, I read most of the AMAs and important posts. Especially the ones where hard core experienced bitcoiners are answering or commenting. We have so much to learn from them !
For example the latest one with @Murch : #348349 That AMA have only 64 comments when it should have thousands!
What I've notice:
  • stackers are afraid to ask important questions or they just ask general ones. Maybe is because they don't know what to ask.
  • stackers are not zapping the answers back. FFS that man put some effort in replying to you, at least give some sats back for that. Not just ask and leave...
  • most of stackers are more preoccupied of twitter dramas and shitposting than discussing more important things, in details and ask these "gurus" about how Bitcoin works. Take advantage of these good AMAs and get the answers you need.
  • I saw all days stackers asking some technical questions but when these AMAs are coming, they just shut up. WHY? Why you are not asking directly the ones that can give you the right answer?

hahahaha not so brutal man. My observation post is more to make people ask tech questions to those that can answer better. Stackers don't have to throw massive amount of sats in zaps. Sometimes even 21 or 100 or 210 or 1000 is more than enough if the answer is good. Is more like a gesture.
I know some are just throwing sats into the main post and forget it, but is nice to give back when you get a good answer.
