Curious on what SN plebs think about this.
Maybe Germany should have focused on innovating and securing their own energy infrastructure instead of focusing on lowering their footprint while using another counties power.. Sad to see..
Thoughts?
Governments do stupid things. This is true throughout history. In germany they shut down nuclear power plants last year and now they are firing up coal power plants. It makes no sense. We need to free ourselves from government asap.

Its all a LARP'ing game, get the normies to support green through fear and then create all these subsidies that are backed by taxes to build subpar energy production, it's such a grift. Germany like many of these green focused countries are just offshoring their energy production and carbon consumption and pretending to green but it's in fact worse of a footprint
Fire up the coal, get local energy that is not wasted when transported over long distances, energy can only scale so far, it needs to be decentralised, people need to figure that out the hard way I suppose, by living with blackouts like we do here in Africa

Oh I thought windmills were good enough for the entire energy demand of Germany heheheh I like to think that in an alternate time line we actually developed nuclear power to the point that we won't have to worry about energy demand anymore

Fukushima happened over a DECADE ago. It's crazy. We could have turened wind power up to eleven but in this sleepy country nobody is doing nothing ever
It reminds me of my friend complaining about heat in summer but not buying an AC - because the current state of reality is unchangable in their minds. Germans are so resistant to let's ducking go and do something.
I could rant about this for hours.

My German friends are disproportionately (out of all my euro friends) fully bought into green sustainability climate change virtue signaling circle jerk propaganda.
They're also the most susceptible to Bitcoin energy fud.
I put it down to them being at the top of the eurozone fiat cantillon pyramid to the point that the majority are completely detached of economic reality.

Interesting point about the cantillon effect. I thought it comes mostly from the guilt of the past everyone gets raised with here, making people much more susceptible to all those virtue signaling topics. But yes, I know maybe one person who is not completely convinced of the green agenda
Anyone with half a brain could have known that nuclear was the only power option that could satisfy our demand.
