I often think about what if the Bitcoin Core devs become incentivised by big palyer donations to push malicious upgrades to control the protocol? What can we do to defend ourselves if the Umbrel, Start9, Mynode, etc co-ordonate together to push those upgrades that only fit big the players wants, such as Blackrock, MSTR, Big Miners, etc.
That's why I think it's important to have different devs from different languages/country who work on different version of Bitcoin core that follow the same Bitcoin core principles.
Plus we need to be able to run a node that never get upgraded by devs, only use other new features/functionality from other node versions.
What do you think?

Would decrease bitcoins value, would be in nobody's interest, no rational miner or bitcoin user would use it, such an upgrade would fork away from the main chain.
Bitcoin core doesn't have auto-updates, so we already have this.
Umbrel, Start9,.. Don't have the previous versions of Bitcoin core and always push the next upgrade on the plebs with an overviewed paragraph of explaination of the upgrade they won't understand and when you don't upgrade you get denial of service
Like I said, bitcoin core doesn't do auto-updates. Stop using a shit platform if you don't want shit.
In your opinion, what is a good node interface platform to run your node on, that doesn't push you shit/updates?
I wouldn't trust any bitcoin software from a distro maintainer anyway, I would never install it from anywhere other than the "official" source.
