I switched from Proton to Mullvad, and couldn't be happier, no more annoying logins! and guys, you can pay over LN here with https://vpn.sovereign.engineering/, and a better practice is to use the purchase voucher option and then redeem the voucher without even giving away the account number.

100%. After going through all the experiences... It is Mullvad or iVPN for the win. Both are exceptional products. Proton is a very distant 3rd in my mind.

"Forked" someone else's 3D pyramid from the interwebs and photoshopped it to have these stages.

Copying Lopp is the final boss stage, where you get super technical and have an amazingly secure local network - his article is a must read if you want to progress up the pyramid.
