I did a quick search and you have to crawl through a lot of FUD.
The most direct way is to ask the El Salvador government. Contact the embassy in your area and ask.

If one is going to ask, I would ask the follow up question:
Where can I find a list of the public address of El Salvador holdings? So I can confirm the on chain transactions.

That's a nice and diplomatic approach! I assume that, being public funds, the information should be publicly accessible... and x isn't an official source, more a marketing platform.
Before knocking on those doors, does anyone know if the information is public or the gov reserve the rights to keep the info private somehow?

I think that this info is private. I've never seen any info about this topic. Some people says that the BTC of El Salvador are hold in Bitfinex, but not sure and not able to provide any source.

Just call the embassy. That's the whole point of an embassy is to answer questions.
Go to official El Salvador government sites and ask the question or FAQ.
