Agree!

depends on what fiat currency you are using to buy Bitcoin
  • Robosats - not much options if for non usd / euro
  • HodlHodl - more options but on-chain only
  • meeting people in person to exchange
  • earn it!
reply
Indian currency prices to exchange in bitcoin is bit high 🙁
reply
yeah, same for many currencies, but well, the better way is to find local Bitcoiners then negotiate a fair price to trade.
reply
Thanks, Is there any perticular platform (Website) to find for Bitcoiners in my country/state 🇮🇳
reply

Meetups!
reply
Most meetups have lots of people that want more kyc-free Bitcoin and few people that give KYC-free Bitcoin. Even tho almost everybody could submarine swap to Lightning and exchange with other people for a fat margin.

There are some good options for KYC free Bitcoin and they're not that hard. I wrote this article last year on this very subject: #219309 There are some new ones to add and it seems like Robosats is going through some changes with their coordinators which add to decentralization. A lot of Bitcoiners in my community moan when the banks stop them buying Bitcoin so I thought we all need to know how to buy KYC free and outside of the fiat rails. I've been KYC free for 1 year now, it's just a mindset and not that hard. Take a read and try one out, my favourite was Robosats, so quick and easy. Other option is getting to know someone who mines, that's cool too. Hope this helps.

Mining. Buy hashrate and send to your mining pool account.

I'd love to hear more about this. Experience, tips, overview? Targeted to a complete newbie to whom this sounds intriguing.

It works, just check the minimum withdraw for each exchange.

Look around, bitcoin frens are always the best choice

It might be a stupid question buuuuuuuut besides in-person BTC purchases, can't the original bank transaction be linked to non-KYC services like Robosats?
reply
I use HodlHodl and RoboSats for OTC non-KYC Bitcoin vs fiat trades.

Hodl Hodl is your best place to buy some

From an anon? You may want to look at the Vexl app by Trezor to possibly find a peer (I typically fail in using it because I’m quite antisocial and don’t have many contacts but it may work for you)

I have also this bookmarked, but haven’t tried: https://invity.io/exchange-crypto

The best is offline P2P. And others on: https://kycnot.me/

I have been testing Robosats vs Bisq for speed and liquidity today.
Robosats was faster and cheaper in fees. (Paid 4% above market) Bisq had more liquidity and better overall price despite paying higher miner fees. (Paid 2% above market)
I used an instant payment method for both, so trade was completed in ~1 hour.
There is still some room for improvement I suppose... if market makers were online 24/7 you could probably complete a Robosats trade in 5 minutes. Bisq is limited by waiting for block confirmations.
reply
Hello, do you mean buying bitcoin without passing a KYC?
reply
The best option for me is on Telegram using the bot lnp2pbot

https://localsats.org/ seems interesting. Few people on it yet, but the ultra simple system has potential.

I share with you my DYOR notes when i wanted to get into non-KYC sats:
  • RoboSats and Bisq are platforms where you can get your sats without having to KYC.
  • RoboSats is short for Robotic Satoshis. It is named as such because it allows you to generate a robotic avatar when exchanging your sats.
  • The difference between them is that RoboSats employs the Lightning Network whereas Bisq facilitates only on-chain Bitcoin payments. So, you can swap Lightning Network BTC to on-chain BTC and vice versa on RoboSats.
  • Another difference is that RoboSats requires you to use it with the Tor browser (http://robosats6tkf3eva7x2voqso3a5wcorsnw34jveyxfqi2fu7oyheasid.onion/) while you install Bisq which is a desktop application that has an in-built payment protocol.
  • Since RoboSats uses the Lightning Network, it has a 3 million sat limit to ensure that transactions can go through completely.
  • Both platforms require you to have BTC first before you can buy BTC - as an assurance that you won’t waste other users’ time with empty promises.
  • Many users use platforms like Strike, Revolut, CashApp and even PayPal to accept payments but if you are particular about your privacy, cash by mail orders, Amazon gift cards or even cash in person would be your best bet.
  • Bisq is non-custodial and decentralised, which makes it harder to be shut down. RoboSats could be shut down if the sole operator were arrested for whatever reason.
reply
you earn it.
reply
Bisq is unfortunately not optimized for a high fee environment as it creates many transactions (security deposit, fee payment, BSQ token) with many outputs. Further the spread increased quite a lot during the last couple of weeks. Larger amount used to trade at spot which is not the case anymore.
Well, garbage trading aka inscriptions hinders adoption of bitcoin.

best option generally is bisq. right now it doesnt support LN but will in the bisq2 update (1.9.17 or something as of right now) robosats is easy and quick so thats my option for small amounts to top off for zaps. once bisq supports LN I dont think I will need robosats anymore…
