I think you need to look at the difference between LN wallet and BTC wallet, utxo's is more related with the second one.
No easy to predict years in the future, it will change... so you must adapt. Start stacking sats in a LN and when that represent some value to you, move to the main chain. In my experience it's no easy to do everything perfect from the start, you will make mistakes, learn and improve your way in bitcoin.
