During the last weeks Tor received few disruptive DDOS attacks which have halted the usability of Tor even for us, bitcoin node operators.
I was lurking the Tor proposals list and I stumble upon two interesting DDOS mitigation proposals by George Kadianakis, Mike Perry, David Goulet and tevador, specifically the proposal number 327 and 331
Interesting points are the fact that these proposal introduce a proof of work system and a token both used to identify and prove that a user is a genuine user and not a bot.
Could this be a valuable solution to DDOS? What if Tor adopts bitcoin instead?
It only becomes a reasonable solution if they use or otherwise peg to Bitcoin blockchain.

Financial incentivation is like a magic spell. Bitcoin fixes this.
