I took a night off from watching sports last night and played Nintendo Switch with the kiddos. I did catch a few minutes of the Raptors game and then later a few minutes of the Hawks vs Kings game before I turned on a movie (Equalizer 3- pretty good if you like action films).

Any boxing fans lingering around Stacker Sports? @kaffi, who keeps dominating our UFC pick 'ems requested we do a boxing pick 'em for the upcoming Fury vs Usyk fight. I noticed it was on the same night as UFC so I was thinking of just having a combat sports pick 'em and include a couple of the boxing matches in with the ufc matches for that night but if enough people are interested I will run a separate one.

@Undisciplined's NBA trade season contest is still running if you want to throw your hat in the ring with some trade ideas. Speaking of NBA, I am not a Joel Embiid fan but credit where credit is due the man is having an MVP season. He took Wemby to school last night and scored 70 points.

Wow, the told you so, US hot take artist media knives are out for Brock Purdy after one lackluster playoff game in horrible weather conditions where he still led his team to a game winning drive. Going 6/7 on that game winning drive. If the point is Pudry is not Mahomes, Jackson or Allen that's fair. If the point is there are a couple other young QBs in Stroud and Love that may prove to be the next great QBs in the league that have more traits than Purdy, that's fair as well. But why these losers are so desperate for Purdy to fail so they can say I told you so, I will never understand. Keep it up I say, you are just firing up the whole 49ers team.

Not many human beings are capable of being a starting NFL QB, period, much less be the starting QB on a clear contender. I don't know why it's so hard for people to just be really impressed by what these rare human beings can do.

I don't get the hate. I mean sure he isn't a top 3 QB in the league or maybe even a top 7 but he is a definitely top 10 which means he is better than 22 other guys. The 49ers are not built for Brock Purdy to single handedly win them games.

There were 60 starting QB's this year. He was better than 50 of them.

I love Purdy's demeanor. He fits well with the Shanahan system. I don't know how successful he would be elsewhere but I think he has great vision and aptitude for the game. He is a humble guy but a serious competitor and he is always trying to improve. He has 1.5 seasons under his belt. I think he is going to be a really good QB in the league for a long time. Maybe never an MVP but a guy like Stafford who is just a consistent top 5-10 QB every year.

MVP can be a weird award. Rich Gannon won it and I don't think anyone ever considered him a top 3 QB. Carr was even one of the favorites in 2016 before he broke his leg. With how good and fun that offense is, I would not rule out an MVP season for Purdy.

Good point. He was in the running this year until that Christmas day game where he threw 4INTs vs Baltimore. I think that might be part of the hate he is getting. All these pundits were Purdy naysayers and he made them look stupid by leading almost every QB category in the league for most of the season and then laid an egg in the most watched game of the year so they got to say "told you so" and now want their told you so to be vindicated so they cheer for him to fail.

Luigi's Mansion 3. My little one loves it because she can control the character to search everywhere and then hand it to her brother when you need to fight the ghosts.

They just got a switch for Christmas from my wife's dad. So they are enjoying it.

It is pretty fun. They let me play occasionally but mostly my job is to cheer them on and to keep the little one from yelling at her brother. Haha.
