The beauty of this approach is that it doesn't require additional hosting infrastructure. Files can live anywhere, including torrents; relays store small events with signed metadata ([NIP-94](https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/94.md)).

This topic cannot be discussed without mentioning file sizes. The infrastructure probably isn't robust enough for this. But I could see it being built with references to torrents magnet links or Usenet.
