Independent thinking is essential to the Bitcoin ethos (don’t trust, verify) and is generally a good habit to cultivate.
Let’s hear some of your ideas, beliefs, or views on the world that most other stackers might not agree with or recognize.
These don’t have to be directly opposing views to standard thinking on Bitcoin, tech, or culture, feel free to also include ideas that most other stackers might not fully appreciate yet.

That the saying "time is money" (often incorrectly attributed to Benjamin Franklin) has all but lost its original meaning from around 1719 and that bitcoin will fix this - amongst other things...
reply
The Fed printing money has essentially no effect on the reduction of purchasing power. Bank reserves are not fiat currency. Bank deposits and cash are fiat currency. Bank deposit fiat currency has been a largely electronic decentralized ledger since the 1950s. Collateral is more important than bank reserves, collateral dealing is more important than all Fed activity combined. Bitcoin is better thought of as a form of disintermediated collateral than as a currency or digital cash.

Fractional reserve custodial banks are not the antichrist. To the contrary, they will play a necessary role in the coming bitcoin economy.

I realize I've been living a project: Project 3333 - dressing using 33 items over 33 years.
That's what it seems I've done (to those around me anyway).
Maybe sometime after the next halving, I'll go and refresh my wardrobe...
reply
Haha, what are the items?
I think I've been doing the same thing. I'm worried it might be less than 33, even.

an extension of this idea is:
you should throw out all your plastic/cheap clothing hangers and commit to using only the most expensive wood/metal hangers you can find

and/or, turn your hangers backwards. After 6 months, the clothes that are still hanging backwards, needs to go since you haven't used them.

ahh great idea

Don’t allocate 100% of your fiat to Bitcoin, save some in the event of an emergency.

true, i suspect you’re right that most stackers are over-allocated

You should never sell your bitcoin, even if it goes to $100M
reply
If Bitcoin is worth 100M USD in our life time then USD has collapsed. If USD has collapsed ala the Bolivar but is still widely accepted then you should definitely not sell your bitcoin and just use it as collateral to take out fiat loans.

it’s an extra $50, an extra 10-30 minutes of waiting before and after the flight, it’s an added risk that things get lost in transit, and it’s an extra suitcase you need to lug around everywhere you go on your trip.
and then the real kicker is that when you get back from the trip you’ll open up your second suitcase and realize you didn’t even use half the items in it.

That said I met some people that came 2 months to Madeira with just a small backpack 😄
