All you have to do is head over to Reddit and look at the subreddits for any hardware wallet; Trezor, Ledger, Coldcard, etc... the number of people that still do not grasp the blockchain, public/private keys, security is fairly large.
Bitcoin has been around for 15 years now. We still have a long way to go before the average person starts self-managing their assets. Look at the early internet; the early adopters hosted their own servers, websites, email. Nowadays, everything is a managed service. Bitcoin will probably go that route, being a managed service, whereas those techie/hobbist/nerds will still be in full control of their own assets.
