How hard it would be to build something like this?
This could be the fully DIY FOSS option built on Open-SmartWatch OS with 3D case
or for the fancy ones that would like to replace OS

I remember when these announcement launched! I want one.

This product seems was designed for collectors only. Ideally, I posted this idea to kickstart something accessible to everyone

Coinkite should be making a watch imo

It is so expensive, $1M for one of their watches.
I can't speak to the difficulty, but looking at the first image in your post, I can't imagine even trying to read that in person, it's got a lot of text in a small footprint 😬

It's just a first idea, don't take it as an image of the final watch! Aimed only to inspire and start the conversation

Too soon. Like the early versions of smart glasses!

I'm not sure why it would require an entirely different OS or some custom watch. You can make a widget on both watchOS and Wear OS to display this data.
As far as using a Huawei (2015) or LG (2014) watch as a daily driver in 2024, you'd be pretty let down by the speed and battery life compared to a current Galaxy Watch 6 or Apple Watch S9.

Good point. Don't know anything about hardware, nor am into wearables. It's good to always learn new things.

Oh cool idea. I will be totally unhelpful by stating that for my part I'd love a nice old school classical style watch face with a bitcoin 'B' when the 12 would be. or something like that.

I'm only going to buy a wearable if it's repairable. I don't think it should be too much to ask in the 21st century.

Another option I presented the idea as DIY is just for this reason, if you are able to put it together you should also be able to do the maintenance and repair it when needed (first prototype).
You could make this statement in the til the 70s! Nowadays, everything feels is made with a really short preference for quality and durability. Use-and-throwaway mentality!
I think that would give them gadgets a real value. This #175847 could help
