Hey everyone šŸ‘‹,
We've been diligently working on a custodial, lightning-first Bitcoin wallet šŸš€ over the past few months and are now seeking early feedback from the community. In exchange for your time, we're offering some sats šŸ’ø to test the app and would greatly appreciate your candid thoughts on both the app itself and your experience using it. Our primary focus has been on the UI and UX aspects, so we're particularly interested in any feedback regarding confusion or suggestions for improvement šŸ¤”šŸ’”.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Currently, the app is custodial-only šŸ”’.
  • A soft KYC process is in place, requiring a phone number at sign-up šŸ“±.
  • The app is available exclusively for iOS 16.4 and higher at this stage šŸ.
  • While the app offers a feature to purchase Bitcoin, please note that transactions with our current partners are limited to on-chain transfers, which can result in high fees, especially for smaller amounts šŸ’°.
We are planning to introduce a non-custodial option and explore fiat on and off ramps in the near future, but these features are still under development šŸš§.
We're also eager to hear about any additional features you think would enhance the app that we may not have considered yet šŸ§āœØ.

2Sats of Advice from a Startup-Mentor:
ā€” go after structured feedback and create your baseline
avoid unstructured feedback! (or keep it to min)
  1. create a short survey form with specific questions and also include some open ended Qs.
  2. after reviewing those surveys, choose some and incentivise to enter into a UX interview with you (open ended Qs)
now for the UX/UI areas/themes:
(freshly ai baked raw dump; thought triggers)
Here are some key aspects to consider:
  1. Onboarding Process:
    • Ensure a smooth and straightforward onboarding process with clear instructions.
    • Minimize the number of steps required to set up the wallet.
  2. Wallet Dashboard:
    • Provide a clean and organized dashboard with essential information like balance and recent transactions.
    • Consider visual elements for quick and easy understanding.
  3. Send and Receive Transactions:
    • Simplify the process of sending and receiving lightning transactions.
    • Include clear QR code scanning functionality for addresses.
  4. Security Features:
    • Implement robust security measures, such as PIN or biometric authentication.
    • Educate users on best practices for securing their wallet.
  5. Transaction History:
    • Organize transaction history logically, allowing users to search, filter, and view details easily.
  6. Notification System:
    • Implement a non-intrusive notification system for transaction updates or wallet activity.
  7. Settings and Customization:
    • Include settings for user preferences and customization, keeping it user-friendly.
  8. Educational Resources:
    • Provide in-app guides or links to resources explaining how lightning transactions work for newcomers.
  9. Feedback Mechanism:
    • Include a way for users to provide feedback or report issues directly within the app.
  10. Offline Functionality:
    • Consider allowing users to view their wallet and transaction history even when offline.
Remember, user testing can be invaluable in identifying any pain points or areas for improvement specific to your users.

Custodial, KYC, iOS and on chain, who would want that app?
reply
Oh, the app is actually fully lightning-capable, it's the on-ramp partners we have that for the moment, only work with on-chain txs. However, you don't have to buy Bitcoin through the app to use it. We've also just found an on-ramp partner that works with Lightning, which is great. Regarding the platforms, we aim to target Android as well. And the KYC is just a phone number for the custodial side, when the non-custodial side is introduced you should not be required to give us a phone number.

Funny title narrative - Are the beta testers wanted tomorrow or is tomorrow just a stacker?

NGMI. Your app will be dead on arrival.
The app is available exclusively for iOS
NGMI. Have fun begging your overlord to aprove your app.
transactions with our current partners
Stop promoting this shit. It's a privacy nightmare. Users should only get btc through P2P.

I'm generally happy to help testing, but this is a turn off for me - why do you require that?

why need to apply instead of opening for anyone if you really want to have feedback?

Because for the custodial side we need a way to identify users. The non-custodial part of the app is not ready, but you won't be required to give any personal info if you just use it.

We're not launched yet, the app is not ready. But we're willing to give out some sats to serious testers as an appreciation for their time, so we have to limit it at this time.

Heroic spirit. Always trying to do something for Bitcoin adoption. Thank you. But why KYC?
reply
It's soft KYC in the form of a phone number in order to identify users. The custodial part of the app needs a way of identifying users and phone number is a simple one.
The non-custodial side won't need that, and we're aware that sim swapping is a thing so we'll probably be requiring 2FA or some additional layer of security above certain threshold.

Because it's a shit product, from soneone who doesn't understand bitcoin.
