500 SERVER ERROR - on syncing google calendar
reply
aha - it's necessary to check the checkbox (share any additional calendars)
reply
for some reason even though my google calendar is linked, "busy" slots still show as free
reply
aha - just took a few minutes to sync. Seems to be working now!
reply
thanks for checking it out! 😬

Pretty good, I don't think I need to use it right now but it's nice to know it's still being built in LN.
If you are the developer check the css width at 768px width for some reason it breaks the layout on the dashboard.

What is the use case of this?
reply
what @k00b said + this could be used by many small businesses IRL not only online. (i.e. potentially estheticians, hair saloons and so on.)
This allows you to open an account in 1 minute, even sync with your Google Cal, to avoid double bookings and earn bitcoin right away. Zero technical knowledge required.
We are trying to help people earn Bitcoin.

Ah the hair salon, of course! Thanks, it is dawning on me. Massage parlors is another great example. I think you should have a couple of these use cases on your website somewhere, since the "book a meeting with @test" undersells it IMO. Great idea, hope you guys get traction

You're a life coach, you're a celebrity, you're a consultant. I imagine there's bunch. It's seem like anyone who sells their time in small discrete chunks.

I always thought those people would first have some kind of soft touch before making the actual appointment - an intro or whatever. I guess this is complimentary to that, so it's more like a bunch of "offline" things need to happen before this could be used:
  1. meet the customer and pitch them on your service
  2. customer confirms they want some of your time
  3. you send them a link to a scheduling + payment tool in one
OK, I think I get it... basically calendly with Bitcoin. Nice.

Very cool, could this be integrated with something like Vida live to run the meetings and Zaprite for invoicing so it becomes a business suite for users with LN apps all the way

no worky for wos or bluewallet 🙁
reply
Hi, I don't think BlueWallet has implemented LNURL-Auth in prod yet (?). Try with Breez, Zeus and so on!
reply
They've actually implemented LNURL-Auth a few days ago: #42197
reply
that's great, did not know. I tested it on LNCal and works great!
reply
Yep, used it to sign up on SN today!
The 2.99, 3.99, 4.99 rates are silly high.
How could rates higher than Visa or MC make any sense?
If this works, rates will drop 100x with competition quite quick.
reply
thanks for your feedback. We are trying to figure out the right pricing model. The rate climbing is to avoid situations where someone just tries to 'clean moneys' through us until we figure out a decent way to do this in a non custodial fashion with lightning (we'll probably wait for BOLT12 Offers). Top rates are not high enough if you ask me. 😄
reply
They're providing a service in addition to payments. Pricing is hard and no one is competing with them yet. If they can get demand while prices are high that's pretty good signal.
reply
Yah, I realized my own comparison wasn't fair like 602 seconds after my post.
Something about the pricing model being both per-transaction and so high triggered me. An emotional response from me for sure.
Also the diseconomies of scale due to the rate climbing with value compounded the triggering. Idgi.
Good luck to them.

Looks a great project with huge potential! A few ideas for future direction:
  • Be able to set your availability for week ahead or specific days (rather than relying on clients to complete)
  • Create specific project links, so client signs-up via 3 buttons. 1) choose time, 2) pay & 3) add email. Reason is that client probably shouldn't need to add location/link - this should be driven by the calendar owner)
  • Zoom integration - given 95% of calls are actioned this way
  • Allow streaming of sats during meeting - this I think would increase the vitality no end
  • Allow calendar owner to pause/refund portion of sats in escrow if client utilises less time
imagin making a calendar with all halvings until the last bitcoin to be mined.
This is really cool! I noticed that pricing appears in $/hr, would it be possible to price in sats/hr?
