Why do some individuals favor it so strongly over other coffee offerings ? It's been my observation that espresso is far more popular in Europe than in the US. Could you shed some light on why this might be the case ?
I dunno about this, but I enjoy using the copper pot to brew my turkish coffee:)
called me old style:)! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I didn't like coffee. Yet, it was the thing that people would drink to have informal scientific discussions during my PhD. So i started with the smallest portion available yet maximally boosting effects. Espresso it was.
I did start enjoying latte and adding sugar later on, but that was very brief as calorie wise it's like drinking coke.
Stayed with espresso ever since.

Have you ever tried real good espresso (portafilter)? It's not just strong small coffee. It's an entirely different beverage. It has texture and is creamy and you can taste the oils.

Yes, I'm currently in Portugal. It's probably the best country for drinking espresso, alongside Italy.

Then the answer to your question should be obvious, shouldn't it?

Roughly, i mostly drink espresso, so I'm not really familiar with other types of coffee. I'd be interested to hear what our American friends think!

Espresso has the most intense flavor and aroma possible.

itโ€™s mainly due to espresso's versatility in creating numerous other coffee beverages; itโ€™s the base.
