I have been playing around with Stacker News for a while now and I think this service has got everything right for now. These are the reasons that I feel it will gain pace in future:

It has created right monetary incentives for people to bring good content and transfer value for value.

All the marketing seems to be organic and word of mouth. Thus, dirty marketing techniques to gain user base to use this service and leave it after sometime should not happen.

UI/UX is good and intuitive. Just needs some work on it.

People will refrain using this service as shit posting as there is a financial value attached for every interaction.
These are the points that I found. Happy to learn more and if there is any backend dev or devops requirements. Happy to contribute in future.
