The term "Angel" is commonly used to refer to a supernatural entity. This is not quite correct however. Angel means "messenger." So "Angel" is a job description that some entity - a member of the supernatural or unseen realm, performs.
Members of the unseen realm are called by many names and described in many ways and in 2nd Temple Judaism, yes, they were frequently referred to as stars. Check out the book of Enoch for a great example. Also, there is Job 38:7
while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God a shouted for joy?
Here supernatural entities are compared to stars and described as the sons of God.
In some cases, the messengers that God sends look like normal men. Nowhere is a supernatural entity described like you see in popular culture:
