Also so we are clear, if I use Bitcoin to purchase goods and services in the USA, it’s a taxable event and I need to submit all of those or I commit tax evasion? Yes, I’m the guy who posted about finishing my taxes yesterday.

Believe me I want to get there and am trying to use the infrastructure and stay within the law. I just don’t see how that is feasible with the current environment. I get it, it’s a catch 22 as we need to use bitcoin for it to thrive. I’m currently in the HODL to cold storage phase with a few lightning wallets! I did like that Christmas secret Santa that you set up and send some sats there!

To be clear I shared a fact, actual law. I despise taxes of all types. It’s theft. But I follow laws, I have a family, and prefer not to get large fines or jail time for tax evasion as I know people who got caught for that.

-ough is indeed a complex English word going back past Middle English (Chaucer) to Old English (Beowulf - closer to German than modern English) and -ough continues to evolve. I would have trouble thinking of a more difficult example of phonetic differentiations mapped to the same English suffix. Here is the expanded list of wildly different pronunciations of -ough:

Things that might depress me are violence, theft, disease... Basically, people suffering through no fault of their own.

That's not what we see on a place like Reddit. While the creatures that lurk within the depths of r/buttcoin or r/btc are no doubt miserable, it's an entirely self-inflicted form of misery. It's not a question of intelligence, or access to information, or anything other than outright stubbornness to update one's own worldview when the thing you declared dead 17 times just made a fresh ATH. That's comedy.

Maybe that's just my sense of humor? I like to make fun of people, and sometimes we take ourselves too seriously. SN for example is full of complete schizos, but I love them all the same. I'm probably one of them, after all.
