I mentioned we could use digital certificates that expire here.
And maybe the texas state icon can then actually be something that shows something different if the certificate expired and was not renewed.

whatever you do, if you decide to implement this, it needs to be done on a relatively short time inverval, eg month otherwise the canary warning is delayed to the users
