Who would have thought that a 10 minutes walk from Yishun Central would have yielded such a paradise? It was surreal to come across authentic attap huts and to see enthusiastic anglers enjoying themselves and trying to catch fish. What touched me about the first photo was that two Indians were watching a group of Chinese catching fish with a fish net. What an interesting way to bond despite language and culture differences.
My other photo of 3 Malaysians showing off their conquests for the camera reminded me of the simple pleasures money can't buy - the peace one feels with nature, the "rushed" feeling that Singaporeans often face, and companionship. All in all, a beautiful place.
