Rarely do I ever enable fiat values. I only care about how many sats I have...
bitcoins28.3%
sats26.7%
fiat5.0%
both, but I focus on the sats/bitcoins40.0%

BTC for my cold storage, sats in my LN wallet.
I also have a spreadsheet that shows the different components of my net worth in BTC. It's kind of scary how the value of my house is decreasing rapidly.

If is an onchan only wallet I set to display in BTC (onchain only for holding and opening channels). If is a LN wallet I set to display in sats. (LN only for spending).
Just for fun, when I want to post a screenshot, I set the fiat currency in VND or THB to display gazillions of units. Is really funny that THB (Thai baht) have the same sign as Bitcoin and many people are confused then they see billions and billions of β‚Ώ (in fact are just sats) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Is it maximalism if I don't give a fork about dollar price or my country currency price and value everything in sats?
reply
Agreed. Sats only for me.

My needs get met currently by earning some fiat when I can and then trading it for food and what not. But my stack is my stack and only can be called sats.

OP is referring to how you use your wallet app to display in BTC or sats or fiat. Not what you do with them.
reply
In that case BTC only

My portfolio app don't allow for Bitcoin as the denomination sadly

In Milli-Sats

It depends on the stash: hardware wallet, computer, laptop, mobile phone, browser extension wallet, custodial (SN, BitSOAPbox, etc.) wallets.

Because my brain is wired to think fiat but I am working on trying to think in satoshi.

I would love to denominate in Sats but my wallet says it in 'BTC'. Can you suggest me one where they denominate as 'Sats' ?
reply
That means you are using the wrong wallet app. Any decent (Bitcoin ONLY) wallet app will have the option in settings to display sats. All of these are displaying "sats"

I use Trust and Metamask. And yes, I now realise that my lightening wallets mention them as Sats. I mostly use WoS.

Seriously, I would recommend ditching both of those wallets. Typically crypto wallets lack many features a bitcoiner needs. I recommend Darth's guides. Features like coin control, address reuse, and even self custody.
There are many mistakes and bad outcomes from shitcoining but the biggest one for me was distraction. I didn't learn many lessons about how bitcoin works and the design choices were made. I was to busy chasing the next thing. And most of those next things are dead now.

I am going through his guides and learning a lot. Will follow @DarthCoin guides like a religion.
