When I was arrested for "disobedience to authority" they put an "attorney" by default.
When he came to me to talk, my question to him was: "If you want to "represent" me as you claim, are you ready to be fully responsible for anything will happen in that judge room? I mean, you will take all the charges on yourself and I can get out free? If you "represent" me then you also pay for anything they want me to pay, right?"
His face got white.
I entered into the judge room and I repeated the same.
Then the judge asked me: are you representing yourself?
My answer was: I am myself, I can't represent myself, I am a living man, that can speak for himself. I am not a dead man or a incapacitated man, that need somebody else to speak/ represent him.
Judge: ok, let's continue.
Me: We cannot continue this theater until we establish something important here.
And I simply asked: "Can somebody in this room prove that have any authority over me the living man? Is there a document I signed myself where I gave that authority to somebody else?"
Long moment of silence and the judge closed the case and I went home free.
ALWAYS STAND YOUR GROUND. Do not give up in front of their theater,.
