I believe it lacks practicality.
I mean, it might be feasible to save storage space on phones by running Bitcoin Core in pruned mode, but to validate blocks, it would need to remain constantly active.
It's a suboptimal solution, to say the least.
Run a REAL full node!
Maybe they will do it with https://zerosync.org/
But yes, you are right, it lacks of practicality, use case.
On a mobile device you should have only LN wallets not core nodes.

Also how much memory your phone must have? Is it compatible with SD cards? I don't think it can match the sync speed and space needed than a pc node.
