The idea for this post came when I was brushing my teeth. I had such a good time reading about everyone’s trip memories, even though I probably won’t be able to travel to many of the places you guys mentioned. This got me thinking about my honeymoon and here goes…

My wife wanted to lepak in the Maldives, but being active, I couldn’t imagine just chilling and doing nothing. So I insisted on exploring Italy for our honeymoon. Thank goodness we did. Even though it happened about a decade ago, some of the memories made then remain etched in my mind. Cobblestone streets in Rome, ordering gelato or coffee, Michelangelo’s chiselled body, eating gelato (you can see how that is a theme) and watching the world go by at sidewalk cafes, following the flow in Vernice, oxtail steak, ham and melon, ancient sculptures and paintings, oldest pharmacy in the wocolourful Burano, flirting with the Italians. I like how carefree and full of life I was in Italy. That’s why travel is the antidote for the soul!

I don’t have any great takeaways to share. I remember how divinely delicious tomato-based spaghetti was in Italy. Just tomato base and strands of pasta, mind you. No other ingredients. I learnt that if your product is extraordinary, you don’t need to embellish it with much else.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?
