As my first official post here on Stacker News, hi!
My name is Julia, and I am known as The Aphantasic Reader (theaphantasicreader_) across Instagram (rather, bookstagram) and Threads! I have a blurry mind's eye, but books are some of my best friends.
To begin, here are some of my favorite books to get to know me a little bit better (specifically in the Young Adult genre). I really do wish that these books were better known in today's bookish world, and I hope I can spread the word about them here!
I have provided the link to Legend above, and all other books below :)
  1. The Legend Series by Marie Lu.
Ok, I have no idea WHY Marie Lu's books are STILL CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED to this day. Masterful writing in character's, worldbuilding, and plot development. And it's dystopian - post apocalyptic in a war torn US around 100 years into the future. Still obsessed to this day, and is my favorite series of all time.
Fair warning: A box of tissues is required for the third book. No, actually, boxes.
  1. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
If you are a sucker for steampunk urban fantasy set in 19th century London, this is absolutely for you.
And yes, this takes place in Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter World. Follow Jem, Will, and Tessa in this prequel trilogy to the Mortal Instruments series. Again, masterful storytelling where the plot and characters (as well as the subplot romances) are immaculate. There isn't a moment of boredom in these books and I promise you, you will be on your toes until the very end with these books.
  1. Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
And Finally, if you are need of a Game of Thrones-esque series that is fast paced and in a four person POV! This story is pretty easy to follow despite the massive amount of things happening, and the writing is clear, fun, and immersive. I don't think I finished a high fantasy series so fast in my life until this one.
Welcome to Stacker News, and welcome to the territory. It's good to have you here. I look forward to reading your posts.
