I arrived on SN by recommendation of a Bitcoiner that I speak to often. I didn't realize that he had already laid the groundwork when he mentioned much earlier on to check out Alby. At that point in time, I did my research and set up my account and did nothing with it.
I believe in Bitcoin and having been stacking off and on for a few years, but I am by no means fully integrated. I'm still very much operating under the old web paradigm. It's a space that I find increasingly frustrating and uninteresting, but almost like a necessary evil.
At the beginning of this year I began a new routine of posting thoughts (business, self-help, audio tech, music) on one of my social media accounts regularly. I've always enjoyed writing so I figured why not try being more 'out in public' with my thoughts and processes. My posts have been received fairly well, and like anything it takes time and consistency to build up that community.
The thing that keeps nagging me is that every post I make, I'm contributing to this way of doing things that I'm not entirely sure is the right approach (at least not for the business of music and/or audio.)
As I've dived deeper into SN, there is a whole other community here that seems like it could be very aligned with my way of working and viewing things. Of course, there are many differing opinions and views, but there is a sense of sovereignty that is so attractive. It clearly help me see how I feel in the old paradigm, it makes me feel helpless because of the way it is structured and how creators are rewarded.
With SN, and directly prior to joining, I've been asking myself how I can bring value to the community I'm speaking to. I've been searching for the answer in many ways, and I think there are multiple possibilities that I'm just beginning to explore.
For now, this is the journey I'm on. I can't say I'll go all in on Bitcoin, but I do feel strangely aligned with its ethos. Only time will tell, and many things will have to align for this to be able to occur. First though, educating myself is imperative.
So in that spirit, these are the Bitcoin subjects studied recently -
This then sent me further down into their Wavman player.
All of this got me to finally explore the Wavlake platform, and I ended up listening to Wavform, the Wavlake music show podcast. This begins to widen my perspective on what is important to this community of artists using Wavlake to distribute their music. As I told @rheedi0 after reading the article he shared -
From their, I went to Stacker Saloon and was intrigued to learn more about @DarthCoin (thanks to @Natalia.) I ended up on the DarthCoin Substack page, where I read a few guides and clicked on one too many hyperlinks to take me further down.
I also learned about -
I'm not entirely clear on everything I'm reading, but I know clarity will come with more context and repetition.
Thank you for this wonderful community and all the excellent resources! So many questions answered, but even more formulated as I keep learning about the possibilities.
Oh yeah! and I almost signed up for Snort, but decided I want to do more research on Nostr before I dive into that.... to be continued.
Very nice post. I like that you are taking small steps and in the right direction. Don't rush it. Keep it in your own pace. It doesn't matter who arrive first to some sats. This is not a race, is a journey to enjoy it.

Great post. Glad you are enjoying SN, finding value and learning from some great stackers.

Welcome! Darth's guides were one of the first things I found after coming here, and I regularly have about five open in tabs at any time. I'm also currently making the dive into learning about submarine swaps.

Man, the tabs inventory can get pretty crazy very quickly, but that's not a new thing for me. I'll still have to do a deeper dive on submarine swaps (no pun intended) when the actual time comes to put it to work.
reply
The great thing about browser tab management is that once you have too many open tabs, all you have to do is close your browser and start over!
reply
That makes me anxious just thinking about it.... but you're right!

Nice man, keep up the great work
TheWildHustle was thinking I'd set my no coiner sister up with the following
  • Stacker News + Primal + Mutiny
  • Fountain + TBC + BTC Mag carrot app (or a zebedee bitcoin rewards game)
Hustle figures that he'll hit here with the v4v lightning angle, the number go up angle, and finish her off with a mutiny recovery and pizza delivery.

Hah! Most of this makes sense, but I'll have to look into the rest to get the complete picture. Thanks for the suggestions.

It's great that you have decided to be here with us at stacker news, we all have a beginning, and from there, if you put in the effort, everything is learning and knowledge, and Bitcoin is an ocean of knowledge and teachings, I hope you enjoy it
