Small Sample
It's a small sample but what an impressive first day of the MLB Survivor Pool. Maybe it is the pool gods making up for the disaster that was the first day of the March Madness pool but stackers went 13-2 with their team picks yesterday. Impressive. Now it's baseball, so winning one game when you need three or four wins to secure your survival for a week isn't a big deal but a great way to start.
Speaking of small samples. The Blue Jays got no hit yesterday. That was painful to watch but the Astros pitcher Blanco was incredible. Sadly, I don't know what to make of the Blue Jays so far this year. They needed an improved offense and have scored a whack of runs in 2 out of 5 games but have been dismal in the other 3. When you smooth it all out they are only averaging 4 runs a game so far which is not going to get it done in the juggernaut AL East. But again it's a small sample so I will wait until at least next week before pushing the panic button. Haha.
I am not even going to mention what's going on with the Mets. Don't worry @siggy47 @StillStackinAfterAllTheseYears and @BTC_Bellzer. It's a small sample. They could pull an Astros and lose the first four and then win 10-0 with a no hitter in game 5.
A couple contest related things. I will do a pick 'em for the final four later in the week so keep an eye out for that and I want to do something surrounding the draft happening later this month, so if anyone has any ideas for a contest surrounding the draft I am all ears. I did think it would be fun if we picked a stacker's team, the stacker identifies their top positions of need and then whoever wants to participate submits a mock draft using one of the popular simulators and the stacker picks the one they like best an the winner gets some sats.
I might be short on time tomorrow as I need to take my wife to the city for an appointment, so I may make tomorrow's daily post a 49ers mock draft submission post for some sats. I shall be the guinea pig.
Sats for all, GR
There's another UFC match up on freebitcoin. If you don't have your own pick in mind I recommend putting 2/3 on Allen and 1/3 on Curtis.

Thanks for the heads up. I covered 55k-85k on bitcoin price bets for april yesterday. Some of the odds were pretty juicy.

I just took the $70-$75. I need to figure out how I want to arbitrage those, because I mostly just lose every month or basically break even because the odds become so unfavorable by the end of the month.
reply
I didn't have 70-75k covered for last month I had 65-70k though and of course right after the bet closed it dipped back below 70k. Haha. I was only betting 500 sats on each range so I think I lost 1500 overall. But my stack is definitely slowly dwindling down since football ended. I think I am down about 4k sats.

I know you guys had been mostly focused on the men's NCAA Tournament, but can we talk about Caitlin Clark taking her revenge on LSU yesterday? She was on a mission going 41 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds, and hitting 9 3's. Go search up some highlights if you haven't seen it.
reply
I did see some of the highlights and the stat line. She is impressive.

it's killing me that i would be doing better right now had i taken my tigers first, instead of the orioles
reply
Both only played one game this week so you would be in the same spot pool wise but you would still have the Orioles in your back pocket. I like the Tigers to be pesky this year. I am not saying they are going to make the playoffs but I think they are going to hang around and be in the last WC spot hunt.
reply
oh gotcha, for some reason i thought we were starting from opening day. i feel a little better then.
totally agree on the tigers this year, pesky with an outside chance at a wild card

Didn't want to start mid week so did the weeks Monday to Sunday to capture two series peer week and started with yesterday's games.

I hear you on the Blue Jays. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster start to the season? Getting no-hit by the Astros had to sting, but you're absolutely right that it's still early days. Five games is just a tiny snapshot, and there's plenty of time for the offense to find its groove.
