Time for our monthly check in on the Bulgarian Bitcoin Football (soccer) Team. Last time we checked in the team was in 7th place with 7 games remaining, trying to make a final push to break into the the top 6 and earn a spot in the champions playoffs. Unfortunately, since that check in the team has gone 1-2-1 and has dropped back to 9th place with only 2 games remaining in the season. They will still qualify for the conference playoffs but they will need a minor miracle to get into the champions playoffs. It is still possible but they would need to win their final two games and have the 6th place team lose both games and the 7th and 8th place team to lose one and draw one.

They have announced a partnership with JAN3 for a variation of the Aqua wallet with the team colours. From their site:

"JAN3’s AQUA wallet introduces “Botev Mode,” blending the club’s iconic colors with enhanced Bitcoin functionality, combining Lightning and Liquid networks, making Bitcoin more accessible to over 100,000 Botev fans and the local community."

I was unaware of this and just turned it on in my Aqua wallet and the background turned black and yellow. Pretty cool. Here is a pic of the UI.

We will check in again on the exploits of Botev Plovdiv sometime during the playoffs.
