(She's the green dot)
Kept seeing the name but don't follow basketball. Watched a highlight video which was a million 3s. Guess I'll have to keep watching!

i also heard her name mentioned a lot, but didn’t realize how dominant she was

I saw a few times her stopping and poping 3s from a few steps past half court. It's certainly impressive she broke Pistol Pete Maravich's NCAA career point total. The crazy thing is that Maravich did it in 3 seasons (freshmen were not allowed to play varsity) and without a 3 point line. Some guess that Maravich would have averaged like 55+ per game if there were three pointers based on the jump shots he used to take.

That’s like a bitcoin returns vs all other assets for the last decade chart.

Wow! She is already a legend.

Too bad she was unable to get the job done yesterday and could not hand South Carolina their first defeat of the season. One of the greatest, if not the greatest collegiate basketball player ever. Too bad she wasn't able to top that with a championship. Best of luck to her in her future WNBA career starting next year.

Yeah too bad she went a little cold... That SC team was just gigantic. Their bench outscored Iowa's 37-0. Just too talented with too much depth.
reply
Yea, she didn't really shoot well during that finals game, going 10 for 28, 35.7% and 5 for 13 in 3's. But what she was able to accomplish playing with Iowa's not so great roster already shows what she was able to bring to a team. 2 finals 2 years in a row, playing with starters such as 5'9" Gabbie Marshall and 5'11" Sydney Affolter, who both were averaging single digit scoring per game... It is, after all, a 5 player team sport, and there's only so much you can carry a heavy team before it breaks your back.

She must be doing something right. lol

She is Larry Bird in 1979.
He was the best player.
His team lost to the better team, Michigan State had 3 future NBA players including Magic

The Iowa House of Representatives unanimously passed a resolution declaring February 22 as "Caitlin Clark Day" in the state, in reference to her jersey number.
Cool! No doubt she would go on to be among the GOATs.
I don't have too much interest in BB, yet you're post made me search about this kid and she has earned my respect.

That's a weired chart.
I cang understand anything from it except it has words stacked upon words. But why and how? If it relates somehow to 🏀 I'm out. I don't play it too much. I like outdoor games. Football and Cricket.

It's a chart with points as the x axis value, and assists as the y axis value. Points and assists are usually the two primary metrics to measure a basketball player's offensive capability. The bunch of names is where all the 9718 d1 college basketball players sit in terms of points and assists they have this season. As you can probably tell, the further to the upper right a player sits, it implies better offensive capabilities. You got that bunch of names, then you see that green dot at the very far top right corner. That green dot is Caitlin Clark. It just shows how dominant she is this season versus the other players and that she is in a league of her own.
