I have seen many people online and in person talk about the "major safety issues" with looking at the sun because of the solar eclipse today. I do not believe this is bad for you at all. I have looked at the sun for extended periods of time and do not feel like my eyes were damaged at all, its also just a nice thing to look at. I have a family member who says they have looked at it a lot and have seen improvements in their vision. What are your thoughts and and/or experiences.
maybe i should get into the solar eclipse glasses business
I dont understand this either. My wife bought the nasa approved glasses, but I told her it was a scam. How many of us looked at these eclipses when we were young?

I agree that it is good for us. I have been sun gazing for years. When I was a young kid I was always squinty eyed. And I have amazing vision. I think it can help us improve our eyes. Great post. Thank you.

And of course, there are the light code downloads you can get by looking at the sun. 🤫

During a partial explode a while back, I looked directly at the sun for a while and it did kind of burn in but went away after a couple days. I'll probably stick to morning and evening sun gazing now.

Gazing for the short period, it might be okay but for longer time it might cause trouble as we know human eye is too sensitive and most sensitive is our retina.

I think it is important to consider that sometimes what we are told is science, isn't the truth. Is this based on experience or something you heard? I have spent extended periods gazing and I think it's great. Not when the sun is high in the sky though. Just like being in the sun in general, I am sure that sun on our skin is good for us, but so many people want to put sun block on every time they are going to be in it. To me sun block is more dangerous than sun. Again, within reason. I don't want to get burnt, but a certain amount is good for us. I am just saying I like to figure out what feels good to me on my own. I feel have I have been lied to a lot about these things.

Yeah you are right. We can't accept everything that science told to us. Almost or it's like most of the doctors and scientists proved that direct sunlight is very dangerous to our eyes and many people accept it as well. If we surf on internet, we find lots of story about sunburn and eyes related problems occured due long term sun gazing. But in positive way we say that early morning sunlight is very useful to our body especially to our skin which give us vitamin D. Like you said "not when the sun is high and certain amount is good " , that's definitely the point. What you think is good, just keep it to yourself. This world is selfish. Hihi
