I want to suggest this website to help new users, "no dev" users as well, the same way to guide Nostr clients development team to keep the main Nostr values (decentralization, freedom of choice, data immutability):
A Nostr Clients Ranking Website
With this in Mind it can display the known and relevant Nostr clients and sort a ranking based on some criterias like:
Privacy
  • TOR connection
  • DECloudFlare
  • Privacy Relays
  • no IP detect/collect
  • no centralization point of failure
  • etc...
Compatibility
  • This Nostr client is compatible with NIPs 01, 02, 03, etc.?
  • This client will break others Nostr clients for basic things? (reset followers if you follow a new one in another client, break the account, corrupt metadata or relays, etc.)
Decentralized Media Storage and Data Immutability
  • IPFS, local host, server host, Amazon, another library storage or data center
  • Any decentralized option, Free or Paid
  • Shuffle Images Library? (another suggestion: #478180)
  • Immutable that even if the "most used client" takes down the images keeps showing in the notes...?
User Experience - UX Design
  • Is this Nostr client easy to use as a Twitter or a Instagram(as example)?
  • Is it easy to create a Nostr account?
  • is it easy to connect to a Browser extension? Is there a guide to help new users with it
  • is it easy to connect a Lightning Network info? Is there a guide to help new users with it and how to ZAP?
  • is it easy to register your user account as "trustful" (NIP-05)? Is there a basic guide for self-hosting verification, third party verification or client verification (and the difference between these options)?
User Interface - UI Design
  • Is it easy to setup account?
  • Is it possible/easy to customize your Nostr account data/info?
  • Easy to filter Notes on Homepage by Follows or by "client default filters" or custom filters (with no need to change it every time you back to use it)
  • Easy to manage (allow, blur, ban) adult/NSFW content on your account?
  • Easy to manage or add extra-criterias/filters to block bots or low quality users on your account (or keep the client default option)
User Backup Incentive
  • Enable/Disable Automatic user local browser offline backup
  • incentive the manual backup periodically of your user data on recommended websites
Using these criterias maybe is possible to ranking the clients by FACTS (in compliance with these criterias) not by emotional thinking, so we can have a fair ranking as possible we can.
What do you think about it?
