People need to take a long hard look at their zap habits….. how can I be in the top 15? I’m not even playing.
The algorithm isn’t in ancient Sanskrit hidden in a cave in the jungle. That’s just @darthcoin ‘s outhouse.

I've been beating this drum for a long time now.
For most stackers, zapping more is in their own self-interest. You will more than recoup your zaps with the rewards they earn you.
Zap big. Zap often. Zap early. Zap well.

Nyms at over 600 comments on 20 something posts. It seems content and engagement is not what gets the zaps. But we got 0 posts and 4 comments or something just chilling in the top 10. Either these were the greatest 4 comments of all time or something's up with what gets zapped.

It is so unfair and gameable I chose to sit this month out.
I am at 15th with 0 posts and 13 comments. I like to zap but actual creators and curators should feature higher up.

If you want an example. 4hrs ago, darthcoin posted a judas priest track in music. (Banger of a track) 242sats zapped, 2 comments. The comments, me and darths reply to me. Ya gotta start asking questions at that point 🤣🤣 I got people in the daily posting every day, stacking maybe 20 sats between them with people talking to each other about the content... Engagement, real engagement, nothing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm not running music for a profit, I'm running it for discussion over music and to share Tracks with people. But I'm becoming less and less inclined to take a loss each month over the fees of providing that space.
With absolutely no disrespect to Darth (our dude does great work) people zapping on name recognition is not V4V that's the same as "liking" something just because a celebrity tweeted. Is this V4V or is this just another popularity site?

Yes, I know that people zap my name.
As I said many times on SN, people should spend wisely their sats.
If they really want to upvote my posts, is enough 1-10 sats.
The amount of sats is ONLY if they really want to send me sats, it have nothing to do with ranking a post, the amount of sats it doesn't mean more votes.
Yes, sometimes they zap more because they like what I say or find useful that info. That is another story.
The thing is that, again I said multiple times, the leaderboard is rigged because the OGs are ranked differently. In such a madness contest, if SN wants to be fair, would erase all the rankings for everybody, during that contest. Everybody start from zero.
And most important: nobody is hiding. Or everybody is in hiding. I was forced to enter in hiding but I do not like it.
The whole madness contest is shit and should stop. I already post less because doesn't make me feel ok to post more.

I feel ya bud. And i meant no disrespect when using you as an example to demonstrate my point.
SN makes me.laugh in instances where for example, I've earnt more zaps today from sending a salute emoji to people than I have for responding with thought to someones comment. It's laughable really. The madness thing just highlights it. I completely agree with you.
