Yeah AOC is a pocket passer, you gotta give him pocket time else you're asking a duck to climb a tree. Penixs ability to improvise and extend plays with his legs are great, but he also needs to be kept upright to do that well.
Ducks can't climb trees?

Ever seen a duck in a tree?
reply
Yes, but I don't think it climbed there.

I'm definitely stealing that.

You can also have "expecting a fish to ride a bike" if you like ;) I got loads of stupid metaphors.
reply
No, Aidan trying to evade pressure is much more of a duck trying to climb a tree.

🤣🤣 well that mental image makes me hope he's the starter all season so I get to watch that fiasco every week

Thankfully, Joe Alt will be there to save the day, so no fiascos for you.

If he falls to you guys for real... Ooooffff that would be awesome. And even if he doesn't, if the juice isn't worth the squeeze and the asking price too high to come up to the top ends of the draft for a QB... Taking fuaga at 13 isn't the worst thing that can happen, you can always get a guy with high upside like rattler in the 2nd maybe 3rd. Might even get penix or nix in the 2nd but I don't see them falling out the 1st. The QB tax is real.

My 1st draft was fuaga and rattler
reply
see i like that, i think rattlers got a lot of upside. undisciplined however... does not 🤣
Good thing you didn't submit that one.
It's interesting how reliably Penix falls to 44 in the various mocks, though. I can't help but think the teams who really need to hit on a franchise guy are scared of his injury risk on top of the usual bust potential.
I do think it would be surprising if someone doesn't trade into the end of the 1st round to pick him though. If he works out, that 5th year option will be so valuable.

was it field yates? or someone like that, who had penix at 2 on their big board right behind Williams. and honestly if those medicals check out... he's right up there, got the highest ceiling of the class, but that floor could end up basement level.
Is that a British thing?
reply
Not exactly... It's more just a pub thing...
