I want to stop that Bitcoin vs all shit now, because I'm of the view that people should learn by their experiences. Let the shitcoiners experiment and experience, ultimately they all will come and the Bitcoin Revolution.
No. I can not stand by and watch someone who I know is being deceitful straight out of the gate "experiment" on people who don't know better. Its just not a normal human reaction to allow something like that.
reply
You're right we shouldn't. It's not normal human behaviour but today I tried it on an ignorant noob Shitcoiner but he was so hard pressed that he ignored every point made by me.

You cannot force people to change their minds.
reply
Yes that is exactly what Meant with my initial comment.

But its a bit besides the point. Presenting the information doesn't suddenly become a worthless endeavor because people's minds aren't changed by it. Having the conversation is enough.
I know you can't get someone you're debating on the internet to say you're right and yet, I have arguments on the internet anyway. Why? Because other people can read that debate and get information from it, but also because an argument had today can be a memory in the future when its relevant to that person and their experiences start to reflect your side of the debate. If the debate was never had, if no one bothered to explain it to them before just because their minds weren't changed in the moment, they'll be left just wondering why with no answer and maybe keep running into trouble with different ideas for why until finally learning.
Ironically I'm literally telling you to have long time preference with your internet debates and to think in terms of second and third order effects rather than primary effects alone lol.
reply
Thanks for this precious advice. I will oblige and will try second and third follow ups.
I'm just asking and a bit curious, what if second and third follow ups also go in vain? Should I go with another as it's already cost me some valuable time, the time that would have got me rewards by talking to someone else.
reply
Second and third order effects not second and third follow ups. You're done. You've said what needed to be said to them. Either someone else will see what you said and benefit, or they'll think about what you said a few years from now.
Little article on second and third order effects: https://www.weskao.com/blog/second-and-third-order-consequences
The only thing that's left is the work that always needs done. Work on yourself. I mean that in the sense that everyone has to work on themselves always. Work on explaining things clearly, work on understanding what the other side was saying so that you can better address those issues. Things like that.
reply
Ohhh alright didn't quite understand the second and third order effects, sorry about that.
You're right, I must work on explaining things in a better way so as to leave more and more impact.
