The only reason they are going after TikTok is because they won’t play ball with the US intelligence agencies. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc all censor information on behalf of the government and probably turn over user data when asked.

I am pro-freedom so I am against banning things. Yet I can't refrain myself of smiling when I read an article about TikTok referring to unrelated topics like Ukraine and Israel aid, and after that suggesting that there is no evidence of TikTok spying on Americans. This has a double-edged sword in my opinion. On one hand in the US we need to improve our kid's critical thinking skills and give them to ability to sort out fact from fiction Finland for example is really good at this and it helps out in the age of misinformation and foreign influence. On the other side, this company has failed to figure out how to handle and control disinformation. It doesn't help that the company claims to be a US/Singapore company however the Chinese Embassy was busted last week illegally lobbying Members of Congress's staff. The Embassy was clear that this was a Chinese company the opposite of what the company itself said.
