I'm not 100% sure of how sparrow handles the technicalities behind this, but the coordinator is/was centralized, means that every wallet that makes use of whirlpool (samourai, sparrow, keeper etc) connected to the same coordinator, which is now compromised

It will work, you can still recover funds, you just can't start mixing them.
