Bitcoin is better than Gold, at being digital.
Something can only be better than something else, in the context of a specific use case.

Of course. The kind of future scenarios where gold functions better as money are the ones where technological civilization has completely collapsed. Those are also ones where any given person has likely died horribly before they ever got to spend their gold.
