At the start of these playoffs, I started noticing the similarities between this Wolf Pack and those 00's Pistons that I love so much.
C: 4x DPOY rim protector PF: Huge Stretch-4 with fouling issues SF: Long athletic defensive wing SG: Primary scorer (This is where they're pretty different. No offense Rip, but you're no Ant-Man) PG: Smart veteran all-star level floor general
What I've seen so far, has given me no reasons to think they can't keep this up.
Good comparison. I wonder if the team was intentionally constructed this way or if it was happenstance.
We all know the Cavs are going to defeat the Celtics but how do you think the TWolves would match up against the Celtics? Part of me wonders if the Nuggets are just an ideal matchup for them and maybe they wouldn't look as good against other elite teams.

I think the Celtics are praying for Denver to make it out of this series. These Celtics can be rattled by physical play and I'm sure they want no part of what Denver's dealing with right now.

Celtics better look out for Mitchell. He might be their 2024 Jimmy Buckets style kryptonite.
reply
Maybe, but I think White and Holiday are better suited to guard him than anyone was against Butler.
I actually think this is a terrible matchup for the Cavs, unless Mitchell does go fully superhuman. The Cavs have great rim protection, but that's not where Boston does their damage. On the other end, Cleveland has two guys who don't have to be guarded on the perimeter, so spacing's going to be terrible.

Mitchell looking good but White is torching the Cavs.
