I believe the real meaning of Bitcoin adoption is when individuals and not governments and corporations, use Bitcoin. But who/what is preventing people from regaining their economic freedom?

That's the big one. It'll also be important to have merchants offering a discount for using bitcoin, which they should be able to do without the credit card fees (and potentially without some avoidable taxes).

What is happening right now is that Corporations, Investment Funds, Banks and even Governments are buying Bitcoin in large quantities. However, individuals do not realize that they are losing the opportunity to have real monetary control.

Onchain ? Fees, privacy, processing times, capital gain taxes
Lightning ? Horrible onboarding, custody regulations, need to be online, manage channels, lock up liquidity, limited inbound liquidity, limited outbound liquidity
