The point is, the stuff is no longer there which means someone would have to look for it to matter. To direct an attack is odd since you'd probably be only stopping a handful of people?

I've heard the theory is: Agents who sell DDOS services will pick large well-known sites as a demonstration of prowess to vouch for their ability.

I guess that's something, but the archive is not my first thought for "boy, look how tough my skills are!" It's like beating up grandma and bragging about it. Now, Cloudflare on the other hand...
